Islamabad Run With Us (IRU) presents Islamabad Duathlon 2023 on 1st October in collaboration with Islamabad Cycling Association (ICA). Race Categories include: There are two race categories: Sprint and Olympic. In both categories, a team of two people can be formed. Sprint Solo & Team 5 km Run 20 km Ride 2.5 km Run Olympic Solo & Team 10 km Run 40 Km Ride 5 km Run Registration fee: Solo Rs 3,000/- Team Rs 6,000/- two person team. Equipment and Attire: a. Participants must use a roadworthy bicycle (no motorized bicycles / e-bikes allowed). b. Helmets are mandatory during the cycling segment. c. Participants must wear appropriate athletic clothing and footwear. d. No outside assistance is allowed along the race course. 2. Transition Area: a. Only participants are allowed in the transition area. b. Participants must rack their bicycles in the designated area. c. Equipment can not obstruct other participants' spaces. d. No outside assistance is allowed in the transition area. e. There is no cycling allowed in the transition area. f. In the transition area, participants must put their helmet on first before they touch their bicycle. g. Participants must not mount their bicycle until they have passed the transition area line. This line will be marked on the road, and race officials will be stationed at this point. If any participant mounts their bicycle before the line, time penalties will be added to their overall finish time. h. Riders are required to keep their helmet fastened whilst on and off the bicycle until they have mounted their bicycle in the transition area. If they remove their helmet before this time, they will be disqualified. 3. Race Conduct: a. Follow the designated course and stay within the marked boundaries. b. Drafting on the bicycle is not allowed. If any rider is caught drafting, there will be penalty points added to their finish time. c. Abide by all traffic rules and directions from race officials. d. Riders must leave at least 3 bicycle lengths between them and the other rider(s). Riders have 15 seconds to pass the other rider, and if they don't manage to pass the other rider within this time, they must drop back to 3 bicycle lengths again. e. Passing should be done on the left and in a courteous manner. 4. Timing and Results: a. Race bibs must be worn as instructed. b. Participants must make sure that their bib numbers can be clearly seen by race officials at designated points. c. Official race results will be based on bib timing. 5. Sportsmanship: a. Treat fellow participants, volunteers, and officials with respect. b. Any unsportsmanlike behaviour may result in disqualification. c. Littering is prohibited; dispose of trash only in designated areas. 6. Medical Assistance: a. Participants in need of medical assistance should inform a race official. b. First aid stations will be available along the course and at the finish line. 7. Age and Eligibility: a. Participants must be at least 14 years of age to meet the minimum age requirement set by the event. b. Parental consent is required for participants aged between 14 to 18 years. 8. Course Changes or Cancellation: a. Race organizers reserve the right to modify the course due to safety or other concerns. b. In the event of severe weather or unforeseen circumstances, the race may be postponed or cancelled. 9. Disqualification: a. Failure to follow the rules, including course cutting or unsportsmanlike behaviour, may lead to disqualification. b. Disqualified participants will not be eligible for awards or finisher's medals. 10. Waiver and Release: a. Participants must sign a waiver/indemnity form before the race. b.
