Startups should be very aware that people posing as investors are out there to execute fraud. These scammers pose a risk to young - and potentially inexperienced - startups in their first fundraising rounds. Draining time, energy, and, worst case, money out of the startups and their founders. In our panel discussion, we will hear from crypto founders who have been targeted by such scams, and hear from a venture capitalist's point of view on how trustworthy investors differ. We will elaborate on questions such as: Are there scammers in the venture capital space? What kind of investor due diligence should crypto startups do? What does an exemplary investment process with a trustworthy VC in web3 look like? How can scammers be identified? What are the “red flags”?
